Agilent BioAnalyzer 2100

The Bioanalyzer 2100 utilizes microfluidics technology for sizing quantification and quality control of RNA, DNA and protein. This technology is the industry standard for RNA quality assessment, and is more informative, quicker, and uses less sample material than traditional agarose gels. The Agilent 2100 Expert Software provides an RNA Integrity Number (RIN score) as an indication of RNA quality, an 18s/28s ratio and an estimation of concentration. The Agilent 2100 analysis can be used to ensure high quality RNA will be used for next generation library preparation, microarray experiments, and real time qPCR analysis.

Available kits for purchase:

RNA 6000 Pico Kit: Range – Total RNA: 50-5000 pg/ul, mRNA: 250-5000 pg/ul

High Sensitivity DNA Kit: Lower limit = 5 pg/ul, 50-7000 bp

New users must be trained by GLGC staff.

The bioanalyzer is available for use by researchers or as a service provided by the Genomics Center for a fee.
