Education and Training at the Great Lakes Genomics Center
The GLGC has a significant education mission. Staff are available to train students on any of the individual use equipment. In addition, seminars are scheduled for training on bioinformatics software packages and freely available software and staff are available for individual consultations regarding data analysis for students and staff at UWM. The GLGC and associated faculty are currently developing a Genomics Certificate program that will take advantage of the expertise found across the campus at UWM. This program will provide courses in the latest genomic technologies and will prepare the next generation of scientists in these techniques, for those who wish to go on to academic careers, but also for those who wish to obtain employment in the fast growing field of genomic analysis for human health or the environment.
